Softball Programs

πŸ₯Ž NMLL Softball Divisions – 2026

T-Ball (Ages 4–7, Coed Playing in our Baseball Program)

  • Purpose: Instructional, beginner-friendly division focused on fundamentals in a high-success environment (hitting from a tee).

  • Eligibility: Ages 4–7 as of Aug 31, 2026. 4–6 year-olds with no prior experience should play T-Ball.

  • Schedule: April–June; typically 1 practice + 1 game per week (weekdays; occasional Saturdays)

  • Location: Mike Lansing T-Ball Fields

  • Team Setup: Small rosters; friend/coach requests accepted

  • What’s Provided: Team jersey, cap

  • What You Provide: Helmet, bat, cleats, pants, socks, glove

  • Notes: Fun, non-competitive; volunteering as coach/assistant encouraged

  • Cost: $175


Coach Pitch / Machine Pitch (Ages 6–9, Coed Playing in our Baseball Program)

  • Purpose: Transitional instructional setting with moderate competition. Coaches pitch first (tee may be used if necessary), progressing to machine pitch.

  • Eligibility: Ages 6–9 (with few exceptions)

  • Schedule: April–June; practices and games mostly weekdays, some Saturdays

  • Location: Mike Lansing T-Ball Fields

  • Team Setup: Friend/coach requests accepted

  • What’s Provided: Jersey, cap

  • What You Provide: Helmet, bat, cleats, pants, socks, glove

  • Notes: Builds on T-Ball skills; moderate competitiveness; possible end-of-season tournament

  • Cost: $200


Minors – Player Pitch (Ages 8–11)

  • Purpose: Instructional and developmental, moderately competitive; follows Little League softball rules. Scores/standings kept; includes end-of-season tournament.

  • Eligibility: Ages 8–11.

  • Schedule: Mid-March – late June; ~18–20 games (weekday evenings + Saturdays)

  • Location: Northwest Open Space + metro area road games

  • Practices: 1–4 per week (coach discretion)

  • Team Formation: Tryouts + Draft; no friend/coach requests

  • Postseason: Eligible for All-Stars (district, state)

  • What’s Provided: Jersey, cap

  • What You Provide: Cleats, pants, socks, belt, bat, helmet, glove, protective cup

  • Cost: $200


Majors (Ages 9-12)

  • Purpose: Competitive environment with focus on skill advancement; scores/standings kept. Includes end-of-season tournament.

  • Eligibility: Ages 9–12

  • Schedule: Mid-March – late June; ~18–20 games (weekday evenings + Saturdays)

  • Location: Northwest Open Space + metro area road games

  • Practices: 1–4 per week (coach discretion)

  • Team Formation: Tryouts + Draft; no friend/coach requests

  • Postseason: Eligible for All-Stars (district β†’ state β†’ regional β†’ national)

  • Cost: $200


Juniors (Ages 12–14)

  • Purpose: Competitive teen division; traditional softball rules, larger field dimensions.

  • Eligibility: Ages 12–14

  • Schedule: Mid-March – late June; ~18–20 games (weekday evenings + Saturdays)

  • Practices: 1–4 per week (coach discretion)

  • Team Formation: Assessment + draft required (unless returning to same team)

  • Postseason: Eligible for All-Stars (district, state)

  • Cost: $200


Seniors (Ages 13–16)

  • Purpose: High school-level play with advanced rules and competition.

  • Eligibility: Ages 13–16

  • Schedule: Mid-May – late June; ~15–18 games including weekday evenings and Saturday double-headers; inter-league with metro-area teams

  • Practices: 1–4 per week

  • Team Formation: Preseason assessment + draft required (unless returning to same team)

  • Postseason: Eligible for All-Stars (district, state)

  • Cost: $200
