⚾ Become an Umpire with North Metro Little League

North Metro Little League is looking for reliable and enthusiastic umpires for the 2026 Spring Season! Umpiring is a great way to support the league, stay involved in the game, and learn valuable leadership skills.

✅ Requirements

• Must be 12 years or older.  Plate Umpire (Solo) 16+, Plate Umpire (w/base umpire) 14+, Base Umpire 12+

• Must attend an  umpire clinic (NMLL will cover the cost of the clinic fee in exchange for a commitment of umpiring at least 5 paid NMLL games)

• Must study and understand the rules to be prepared for game situations

📅 Season & Scheduling

• Schedules Available: Beginning of April

• Assignments: Based on performance and development as an umpire

• Scheduling System: Managed through a sign up genius form 

💵 Volunteer or Paid

Umpires may choose to:

• Volunteer their time, OR

• Work as an independent contractor with North Metro Little League

📝 Application Process

To apply as an umpire, you must:

1. Complete the Application Form → Umpire Application Form

2. Submit a W-9 Form

   • W-9 Form Instructions

   • Download W-9 Form

3. Complete a Background Check

   • Prior to the season, the NMLL Umpire Coordinator will email you a link to complete your background check.

While waiting for the season to begin, get a head start with training videos from Little League University:

Free umpire clinics will also be held before the season to provide hands-on training and cover rules, mechanics, and game management.
