Nelson is an IT professional and resident of Broomfield, CO. He has been involved with NMLL for 6 years, starting as a coach in 2016 and joining the Board of Directors in 2020. Nelson was elected President in 2022.
Outside of baseball, Nelson, his wife Nicole, and kids, Izzy and Alex, enjoy travel, adventure, movies, and sporting events. Their son, Alex, is a current NMLL player, so you'll see them at games. Nelson looks forward to meeting other parents and is excited for the new season!
Baseball was the summer pastime for Matt. At a young age, he loved riding bikes to a local field with friends. They conducted their own batting practice and home run derbies. Matt enjoyed learning the dynamics of the game. He was fortunate to be coached by some amazing people, starting as early as T-ball, and wants to pay it forward.
Matt lives in Broomfield with his wonderful wife and two children. He grew up in Louisville, CO and has never moved very far away. Matt's family and extended family have a deep interest in the game of baseball and hope to see it for generations to come. He hopes to help create and maintain the fun found in the game of baseball to young ages. It is very rewarding to practice and have fun!

Nicole is a local REALTOR®, resident of Broomfield, and a mom to two active kids, with one in NMLL since 2016. She grew up playing baseball and softball, both in the local Little League and with friends in a clearing using tree stumps and gloves for bases! Nicole's family has a long history of Little League Board membership, starting with her grandparents establishing the hometown’s Little League back in the 60s. I am looking forward to paying it forward and helping to provide a great environment for the next generation to foster their love of the game! Mark has been involved with Little League Baseball most of his life. As a player, coach, parent of a player, volunteer and Board Member he has participated in many aspects of Little League.  Over the last few years in the role of Treasurer, he has made every effort to keep the league fiscally sound and provide the necessary resources for the players. North Metro is only as strong as the members who make up the league and being involved is key to that strength. Please join us in making the kids' experience safe and fun this baseball season.
Pictured here, Mark spent a special day at Coors Field. A friend introduced him to MLB Umpire, David Rackley. David stated that this is the best “office” anyone could have.

Desiree Ortiz

Mark joined the North Metro Little League Board in the Spring of 2022. He has a 5 year old son starting in T-ball and a 3 year old daughter eagerly waiting in the on-deck circle for her chance to shine. Having grown up on the ball diamond Mark is excited to see his children start playing and finding ways to give back to the sport. Prior to joining us, Mark finished his Masters in Engineering at CU Boulder and served on the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering, Rocky Mountain Section.

Desiree has been involved in Colorado District 2 Little League since 2010 and has served as a parent volunteer, board member, league president, and District Tournament Director in that time. Stemming from a long family tradition of participation in the administration of youth sports organizations, Desiree chooses to spend her volunteer time helping kids in the community get outside and play baseball. Her passion for Little League comes from her own experience as a player in Little League baseball as a child while growing up in northern New Mexico.  Little League provided an amazing experience that assisted Desiree in a time that she needed it most. Her goal is to make sure that Little League is available as a positive experience and program for the players in her community so it can be there for kids who may need it too. Desiree is looking forward to working with the North Metro LL community and growing the love of Little League for its families.
