City of Northglenn Meeting with NMLL.  The meeting was held to discuss the current conditions of the North West Open Space baseball fields, plans to maintain the fields, and look at new ideas for future use of the park.  Several parks personel were there and a couple council members from the city and two reps from NMLL.
Overall the meeting went well.  The City appears to have their hands tied for recent budget problems. They committed to maintain the field this year and have already fixed some drainage problems and groomed the fields. Some new designs were introduced, however budget and resources seemed to be the major stumbling blocks.  All looked at ideas for finding appropriate sponsors or donators to inject some very needed funding into Northglenn Open Space.  All agreed that these ideas needed to be followed through and pursued in order to make the changes necessary for Northglenn to be a  more attractive place for our youth to come for youth sports.  Doggy play grounds are nice but they do not pay the bills!
All in attendance agreed that we need new fields and that the city was continually poring money into maintance and materials.  These expenses are not bringing in any new revenue or bringing more youth to Northglenn. With the addition new fields located outside of the city more of our youth are being pulled from our facility and playing with other organizations.
